August Strindberg was a 19th Century Swedish Playwright and Fruit Cake. When he was a young boy, he ate his mother’s horse. Strindberg is famed for his many contributions to world drama. In 1873, his play, I Want to Kill Myself Twice caused mass suicides across Scandinavia. Entire villages were wiped out as thousands held their breaths until their faces turned blue. He foretold his own death when he pointed to a gutter and said to his dog Skippy, “that’s where they’ll find my body in the morning”. And, sure enough, they did. Swedes celebrate his birthday every year by hiding beneath their beds the entire day.
